I have grown for many years and just made a purchase for a second UVB light so both of my tents can benefit from UVB light the tent containing the UVB definitely show an increase in sugar and previous experience made me a believer but I increase my grow area to double with a second 4x4 tent for more vegging space and decided to flower the plants in it after several weeks the difference was amazing the UVB tent showed faster development and loads of tricomes,in the tent with UVB it literally looks like the flowers have so much they spill on to the leaves so I had to add one to that tent and the result has been the same!My approach seems to be pretty brutal after a short period of transition I turn up the intensity on my ss1100 (2 per tent) using a par meter to measure the light at 1150 to 1100 par on tops closest to the lights usually 18 to 24 inches from the lights and then after a couple of days clobber them with UVB for 9 hours a day and the result are incredible the neighbors have a nug smasher they have tried a lot of bud through that thing other growers dispensary their own out door grown by far my bud in 6 different strains provides the most and highest quality resin they always are ready for my harvest
Day 5 - I have shut off the UVB light. After 5 days, the plants closest to the light (24") have started to wilt, while the others further away have just shown burning on the tops of the leaves.. I'll have to assume I don't have enough distance between the light and the canopy. I am unable to raise it any further, so best I shut it down.
Reaching out to you again Shaun,
We recommend 3 feet from the plants. We usually start with smaller periods of time and increase it slowly as the plants get used to it. Try to position the on period in the middle of your flower time. Just do it for 30 minutes 6 hours in. Increase to an hour after a couple days and so on until you have it on for a couple hours per period. You have it on way too long and too close. Sativas can handle it better than a broad leafed Indica can. I hope this helps!
The UVB light has been in use for 4 days now. It is hanging approximately 24-inches above the canopy. It is set to turn on every 2 hours for one hour. It is a little premature to suggest how well it works. What I have noticed is the smaller bud leaves burning slightly at the tips. Another review will be submitted after 2 weeks of use
