What are White LEDs?

Unlike variable spectrum LEDs, white LEDs are LED grow lights that feature a set spectrum that cannot be adjusted by the grower. White LEDs consist of a balanced spectrum containing every wavelength plants need for photosynthesis and development.

White LEDs and Plant Visibility

While other HID and LED lamps cast a red, blue, or purple glow on your crop, plants look normal to the human eye under whtie LEDs. This is because the balanced spectrum of white LED grow lights contains green wavelengths. The chlorophyll in your plants reflect green light, so when that part of the light spectrum is not present, your crop appears discolored. As a result, white LEDs make it easier to observe plant health and notice discoloration from fungus or light damage right away.
