What is Specular Reflection?

In specular reflection, incident light is reflected at an angle that is equal to and in the same plane as the angle of incidence. In less scientific terms, specular reflection refers to a mirror-like reflection of light.

What is the Difference Between Specular Reflection and Diffuse Reflection?

Specular reflection is the mirror-like effect that occurs when light reflects off of a smooth surface. A rougher surface results in diffuse reflection, as the jagged angles of the surface distort the angles of reflection.
