What is a Conversion Bulb?

A conversion bulb is a lamp of one spectrum type that still functions successfully when used in the fixture of a different spectrum type

Why use a conversion bulb?

Conversion bulbs are especially handy if you use an HID grow light system, as it allows you to switch light spectrums when your crop moves on from the vegetative growth phase to the flowering phase. For example, sodium conversion bulbs would allow you to use an HPS bulb in the same lighting system you use for your MH bulbs.
